Activities held:
- Testing of the combustion of three types of residual biomass (pruning, straw, forest management) and production of biochar.
- Survey on the availability of biomass residues (types, quantities available, the availability periods) in the Province of Forlì-Cesena with particular regard for the hilly and mountainous areas.
- Distribution of biochar as is or mixed with manure on soft wheat and other crops such as alfalfa, grain maize, faba beans. Evaluation of yield and chemical and physical parameters of the soil.
- Biochar addition to food ration of beef cattle to reduce enteric emissions and addition to litter to evaluate the emissions reduction from the manure
