GRECO faces the specific challenge of putting Open Science into action in a research project concerning Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Research. Photovoltaics is a realistic R&D area in which to set up and operationalize an Open Science demonstrator. By adopting the model of RRI, definitively we will demonstrate how increased endorsement of PV technology will increase utilization and integration of PV technology into the electric energy supply system.
GRECO proposes RRI solutions to increase PV technology useful life, reduce its cost through increased performance and, demonstrate novel competitive solutions in agriculture and buildings.
GRECO is working on several technological products that go beyond the state-of-the-art:
- PV in-situ repairing methodology
- PV irrigation system (requested by the final consumer, so targets directly to cover a real expectation and need from our farmers)
- micro-CPV system demonstrating its potential to cover higher energy demands
- open monitoring of the system will favour a real transparency on the performance of this product sold by and European company
- research on perovskites creating the basis for a next generation of solar technology
- heat-pumps are a product which will support the heat demands from citizens from a renewable point of view.
Assessment
This section contains a brief assessment of the FEFTS described.
There are 3 basic categories: General, Environmental and Socioeconomic assessment.
The purpose of this assessment is to give a quick overview to the potential FEFTS user of its application benefits.
For each question, the Likert scale is used with the following possible answers:
Strongly disagree, Disagree, Neither agree nor disagree (Neutral)/non applicable, Agree, Strongly agree
