The main goal of Solar-Win is the industrial scale-up, validation under real-world operation conditions (TRL8) and commercialisation of next generation transparent and non-intrusive photovoltaic (PV) windows. The project will result in a unique transparent and electricity-generating window that merges the functionality of a PV module and a window in one, allowing a strong increase in the surface available in the building for generation of PV electricity;
(1) transparent and visually non-intrusive windows (with controlled visible transparency from 40% to 75%) able to generate up to 30 W/m2 of green electricity;
(2) full compatibility with existing window manufacturing technologies;
(3) lifespan equivalent to standard windows (20 years);
(4) cost effectiveness (cost increase of just 30% with respect to a standard window).
The solar windows, with c-Si and CIGS photovoltaics cells, have been developed and manufactured by PHYSEE and SUNPLUGGED, in the framework of SolarWin EU project headed by IREC. The Project concept relies on the solar window patented technology developed by PHYSEE at TRL6, and on the highly flexible PV technology of SUNPLUGGED.

This section contains a brief assessment of the FEFTS described.
There are 3 basic categories: General, Environmental and Socioeconomic assessment.
The purpose of this assessment is to give a quick overview to the potential FEFTS user of its application benefits.
For each question, the Likert scale is used with the following possible answers:
Strongly disagree, Disagree, Neither agree nor disagree (Neutral)/non applicable, Agree, Strongly agree
Keep in mind that this assessment is subjective, based on publicly available information.
All registered users are asked to evaluate each FEFTS and when an adequate number of reviews is gathered the results depicted here are updated. Each review is screened in order to avoid malicious practices.
FEFTS providers who do not agree with the assessment results, can send their inquiry to info@agrofossilfree.eu and a direct action based on their petition will be taken.
