Nature Energy’s biogas plants will treat more than 4 million tonnes of biomass – waste from agriculture, industry and households – in 2021, converting it into more than 165 million m3 of green gas.
That much biogas could be used to fuel 8,000 lorries driving 30,000 miles per year, or to heat 57,000 homes. All of this is CO2-neutral as well as replacing fossil fuels.
Nature Energy’s ambitions to contribute to the green transition together with farmers, businesses and people reaches beyond Denmark’s borders.
The gas is sent to the natural gas grid, CO2 and the unpleasant toxic hydrogen sulphide is removed from the raw biogas. This is done in an upgrading unit. The gas can then be distributed as green energy throughout the country.
Biogas from Nature Energy is already used for biogas in tranport, especially in Danish busses.
Over the next few years, Nature Energy will be investing in new large biogas plants in other countries in Europe and North America
